Inspiring Journeys of These Teams

Jharkhand Pipe Band Girls (PM SHRI KGBV Patamda)

This 25-member team includes girls from underprivileged rural backgrounds, many of whom are experiencing their first train journey to Delhi. Guided by instructors from the Sikh and Punjab Regiments at Ramgarh, the team has been practicing for three years, braving challenging conditions to master their craft.
The team won first place in the 2024-25 State-Level School Band Competition in Ranchi, surpassing strong contenders.

Sikkim Brass Band Girls (Govt. Sr. Sec School, West Point)

Known for their consistent excellence, this team has earned accolades at state, zonal, and national levels. They emerged as Eastern Region Champions, showcasing remarkable discipline and musical skill.

Karnataka Pipe Band Boys (PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2, Belagavi)

Trained by the Maratha Light Infantry Regimental Centre (MLIRC) in Belagavi, this team includes students from Army families. Their dedication reflects the values of discipline and patriotism instilled through their training.

A Step Towards Holistic Education

Under the Samagra Shiksha scheme, PM SHRI schools receive support for organizing band competitions at the state level. The program aligns with the National Education Policy 2020, which emphasizes holistic education, discipline, and patriotism.

The initiative has expanded, with Army Regimental Centres training school bands across 11 states, and plans to include more regions. This effort aims to instill national pride, musical excellence, and unity among students.

As these young musicians take center stage at the Republic Day Parade, they symbolize a blend of tradition, talent, and the spirit of patriotism, marking a proud moment for India’s education system.
