New Delhi, January 26, 2025: India is all set to celebrate its 76th Republic Day with grandeur at Kartavya Path, New Delhi. The event will highlight India’s rich cultural diversity, military strength, and development journey, focusing on the 75 years of the Constitution’s enactment.
Chief Guest and Key Highlights
- President Smt Droupadi Murmu will lead the nation in the celebrations, alongside Indonesian President Mr. Prabowo Subianto, the Chief Guest for the event.
- The parade will showcase 31 tableaux on the theme ‘Swarnim Bharat: Virasat aur Vikas’, reflecting India’s heritage and progress.
- For the first time, a Tri-services tableau will symbolize the jointness of the Army, Navy, and Air Force with the theme ‘Shashakt aur Surakshit Bharat’.
Special Guests and Performances
In a unique initiative, 10,000 special guests from various walks of life, including Sarpanches, artisans, and achievers under government schemes, have been invited to witness the parade.
- 5,000 artists will perform an 11-minute cultural piece titled ‘Jayati Jaya Mamaḧ Bharatam’, representing 45 dance forms from across India, covering the entire stretch of Kartavya Path for the first time.
Parade and Military Display
- The parade will begin with a wreath-laying ceremony by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi at the National War Memorial.
- A fly-past by 40 aircraft and helicopters, including Rafale and MiG-29s, will captivate the audience with formations like Dhwaj and Vertical Charlie.
- The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force contingents, along with the Indonesian Armed Forces, will march in unison, showcasing military prowess and international camaraderie.
Veterans and Women’s Contribution
A special Veterans’ Tableau will honor India’s war heroes and sports achievers. Women officers from all three services will represent Nari Shakti, underlining their vital role in the armed forces.
Accessibility and Ease of Access
- Free Delhi Metro rides for ticket holders and a park-and-ride scheme will facilitate smooth access for attendees.
- All enclosures are equipped with ramps and Divyang-friendly facilities, supported by youth volunteers.
Events Beyond Republic Day
- Bharat Parv, from January 26-31 at Red Fort, will feature tableaux, cultural performances, and regional cuisines.
- The Beating Retreat Ceremony on January 29 will mark the conclusion of the celebrations with traditional military bands performing Indian tunes.
This Republic Day celebrates India’s progress, unity, and cultural heritage, setting a benchmark for patriotism and inclusivity.
