DPIIT-Apna Partnership: Boosting Startup Hiring and Youth Jobs

DPIIT Teams Up with Apna to Empower Startups and Create Jobs

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) has partnered with Apna, India’s leading jobs and professional networking platform, to strengthen the startup ecosystem and create meaningful job opportunities for the country’s youth.

Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), this collaboration offers registered startups hiring credits worth ₹2,000 per entity on Apna’s platform, benefiting approximately 7,00,000 startups registered on the Bharat Startup Registry (Bhaskar). The initiative currently holds a monetary value of ₹140 crore, with the potential to grow to ₹300 crore as the startup ecosystem expands.

Key Highlights of the Partnership

  1. Startup Hiring Credits:
    • Each DPIIT-registered startup will receive ₹2,000 worth of credits on Apna’s platform.
    • These credits can be used for job postings and accessing talent pools tailored to specific hiring needs.
  2. Enhanced Talent Access:
    • Apna’s AI-driven hiring tools will help startups identify skilled workers more efficiently.
    • The initiative aims to reduce time-to-market for new ventures, enabling startups to scale operations faster.
  3. Support for Skilled Workers:
    • Apna’s platform will act as a bridge, connecting skilled professionals with startups, fostering growth and innovation.
    • The collaboration will align talent pools with industry requirements to ensure better job matching.

Impact on India’s Startup Ecosystem

This initiative represents a significant step in bridging the gap between startups and skilled talent. By leveraging Apna’s advanced job-matching tools and DPIIT’s extensive network of startups, the partnership is expected to:

  • Promote efficient hiring processes.
  • Empower startups to access the right talent.
  • Create new job opportunities for India’s youth.

Remarks from Stakeholders

The DPIIT Startup India program will work closely with Apna to curate job postings and align the platform’s resources with the needs of the startup ecosystem. This partnership exemplifies the government’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and reducing unemployment.

With over seven lakh startups already registered on Bhaskar, this initiative is set to revolutionize hiring practices, supporting the growth of India’s entrepreneurial ecosystem while creating pathways for youth employment.

This collaboration between DPIIT and Apna reflects a shared vision for a thriving startup ecosystem that not only fosters innovation but also generates meaningful employment opportunities across the country.
