Government Directs Blocking of International Spoofed Calls Using Indian Numbers

In a grand celebration of inclusivity and empowerment, the International Purple Fest – Goa 2024 kicks off today, promising a week-long extravaganza until January 13. Hosted by the State Commissioner’s Office for Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with the Directorate of Social Welfare, Government of Goa, and supported by the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India, the festival's grand inauguration is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. at D.B. Grounds, Campal, Panaji. The opening ceremony, graced by prominent figures, will see Dr. Pramod Sawant, Chief Minister of Goa, as the Chief Guest, and Shri. Ramdas Athawale, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, as the Guest of Honour. Dignitaries like Shri. Vishwajit Rane, Minister of Health, and Shri. Shripad Naik, Union Minister of State for Tourism, Ports, and Waterways, will contribute to the festive atmosphere. Aiming to spotlight the talents of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), the opening ceremony will feature engaging performances in music, dance, and entertainment. The highlight of the ceremony will be the rendition of the Purple Anthem titled ‘Dhumal,’ a collaborative performance by Persons with Disabilities from various parts of Goa and esteemed creators from the Indian Music Industry, symbolizing inclusivity and unity. The International Purple Fest – Goa 2024 will also launch various initiatives of DEPwD and the Government of Goa, marking a significant step towards a more inclusive future. With an expected global turnout of over 8,000 delegates, this festival promises to be a global celebration of diversity, inclusivity, and empowerment.
