New Delhi, January 25, 2025: The 76th Republic Day will be celebrated with grandeur tomorrow, showcasing India’s rich cultural diversity and national strength. Among the many events, the Government of India has invited over 400 fishermen, livestock farmers, and their families from across the country to witness the Republic Day Parade at Kartavya Path in the national capital.
Special Guests and Honors
Department of Fisheries Guests
- 200 special guests have been invited by the Department of Fisheries, including 6 distinguished invitees who will have the honor of meeting the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
The special invitees are:- Ms. P. Hema Lathan, Karnool, Andhra Pradesh
- Mr. Gyan Swaroop Sahoo, Puri, Odisha
- Mr. Yohan Arvind Gavit, Nandurbar, Maharashtra
- Ms. Shabnamben Sajidbhai Vhora, Anand, Gujarat
- Mr. Samdup Bhutia, Soreng, Sikkim
- C. Arjun, South Andaman, Andaman and Nicobar Islands
Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying Guests
Another 200 special guests, invited by the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying, represent various regions, including Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Jammu & Kashmir. These individuals are beneficiaries of the Rashtriya Gokul Mission (RGM) and include:
- MAITRIs (Multi-Purpose Artificial Insemination Technicians in Rural India)
- Gopal Ratna Awardees
- AI Technicians who have significantly contributed to the livestock sector’s development.
Felicitation by Union Minister
Following the parade, these special guests will have the opportunity to meet Union Minister Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh, along with Minister of State Prof. S.P. Singh Baghel and Minister of State Shri George Kurian, at a special interaction held at Ashok Hotel, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. During this event, 10 exceptional individuals—five each from the Department of Fisheries and the Department of Animal Husbandry and Dairying—will be felicitated by the Union Minister for their outstanding contributions.
Enriching Experiences for Special Guests
To enhance the experience of the attendees, the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying has organized visits to several iconic locations in Delhi. This initiative celebrates the pivotal role played by fishermen, livestock farmers, technicians, and their families in strengthening the Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Livestock sectors in India.
